The 12 MP Flea3 FL3-U3-120S3C features the new Starvis IMX172 rolling shutter CMOS sensor. Originally designed for outdoor, night time imaging, Sony's Starvis technology improves upon Exmor R's backside-illuminated design and offers improved imaging performance, specifically in extreme low light environments. Our implementation in the Flea3 model is scheduled for release in Q3 2016.

3.2 MP Blackfly S Features Sony IMX252

The 3.2 MP Blackfly S BFS-U3-32S4C uses the Sony Pregius IMX252 global shutter CMOS sensor. The IMX252's combination of low temporal noise and high dynamic range with the very popular pixel size of 3.45 µm and 1/1.8" optics provides an easy migration path for users of the ICX274 sensor in particular. This new model is scheduled for release in Q3 2016.
