Point Grey Research Inc. is looking to hire a Junior Technical Support Analyst. The Technical Support Analyst will work as part of the Support and Applications Engineering Team out of the Richmond office. In this role they will provide technical assistance to users of Point Grey's advanced digital camera technology products around the world. Point Grey's products are often incorporated into large and complex applications by highly educated and technically knowledgeable end users, resulting in unique and challenging problems to solve. This position is ideal for junior engineers that enjoy working with people through complex problems and are looking for a path towards doing Applications Engineering.

Specific responsibilities include:

• Assist OEMs, distributors and end users in troubleshooting hardware, firmware and software issues (primarily through e-mail)
• Provide support to sales team members in responding to customer technical questions
• Issue RMAs, where necessary, for the return and repair of Point Grey hardware products
• Update corporate website pages and technical support section content
• Write knowledge base articles, and update technical reference manuals and end user documentation
• Work closely with the engineering and software development teams to resolve issues and bugs
• Perform quality assurance testing on Point Grey software development kits and camera firmware

Skills and Qualifications:

Required:
• Fluent in English - spoken and written, other languages would be an asset
• Exceptional problem solving and communication skills
• Excellent all-around technical knowledge (PC hardware, software, general programming)
• Strong customer service skills and/or support experience
• Ability to be responsible, reliable, and well organized
• Good knowledge of C, C++ or other object-oriented programming language
• Good understanding of HTML and other web development languages
• Diploma in computer systems technology or software development (IT certificates not accepted)
Preferred:
• Knowledge of FireWire and the IEEE-1394 standards
• Basic understanding of software, electrical engineering and/or embedded systems fundamentals

Point Grey Research Inc. is looking for an energetic, self-motivated sales person to join our European team as an Inside Sales Account Manager Europe. This is a great opportunity to learn about the inner workings of a small team and rapidly growing company, while making significant contributions to its success.

Specific responsibilities include:

• Handle daily interactions with customers via phone and email; respond to enquiries, prepare quotes, enter orders, maintain customer database and provide pre and post-sales support
• Actively manage existing customer relationships to ensure forecasts, scheduled orders and delivery schedules are up to date. Work to maintain excellent relationships with existing customers
• Work with the Business Development Manager to sustain relationships with key prospects, with the aim of achieving strategic sales goals. Source business contacts and develop them into long term business relationships.
• Target new companies and sectors, follow up on and qualify inbound sales leads, and help turn enquiries and leads into sales
• Perform a basic analysis of the opportunity pipeline for the local market
• Answer incoming calls and perform other ad hoc administrative tasks as required by the team.
• Maintain and develop excellent working relationship with Point Grey’s HQ in Canada
• Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate

Skills and Qualifications:

Required:
• Strong technical sales experience is mandatory. Good knowledge of the uses and technical capabilities of industrial digital cameras is an asset
• 3 years of proven experience in Industry (Machine Vision, Metrology or Motion control); business experience in Machine Vision industry would be advantageous
• Proactive and creative sales approach that is customer-focused
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, accurately, and professionally, verbal and written, in both German and English. Other European languages would be advantageous
• Excellent customer relationship and interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on responding promptly and meeting commitments made to customers
• Ability to work with a high attention to detail and accuracy, multitask and prioritize, and work independently with minimal supervision
• High degree of discretion dealing with confidential information
• A strong work ethic, positive attitude and enthusiasm to learn and grow with the organization
• Experience in MS Office: Word, Excel and Outlook required; PowerPoint is a plus
• Process knowledge of order fulfillment and inventory control
• Excellent administrative skills

Ihr Profil:

• Sie verfügen über eine abgeschlossene technische oder betriebswirtschaftliche Ausbildung und konnten bereits 3 Jahre Berufserfahrungen im technischen Vertrieb eines Unternehmens in der Industrie (Bildverarbeitung, Messtechnik, Steuerungstechnik) oder einem ähnlichen Umfeld sammeln. Erfahrungen in der Bildverarbeitungsbranche wären hilfreich
• Affinität zu technischen Produkten, Verständnis technischer Zusammenhänge und Fragestellungen, Kenntnisse über die Einsatzmöglichkeiten von industriellen digitalen Kameras und deren Funktionsweise wären von Vorteil

Point Grey Research® Inc. is looking for a detail-oriented, highly motivated and organized Planner.

As a member of a dynamic, growing, and quality focused manufacturing team, the Planner’s primary responsibility will be to work with the Master Scheduler to release manufacturing orders to meet the production requirements.

Specific responsibilities include:

• Schedule manufacturing orders
• Continually analyze MRP output
• Communicate daily schedule updates, report delays, and provide suggestions for recovery
• Work closely with purchasing and floor supervisors to make sure production schedule is on target
• Assist with the timely mitigation of material shortages
• Interface with sales and expedite orders to meet changing customer demands
• Participate in effective implementation of engineering change requests and other changes that may affect current build schedules
• Participate in continuous initiatives to improve current processes and reduce costs
• Provide additional reporting and perform any/all tasks assigned by your direct supervisor and/or manager as directed

Skills and Qualifications:

• A minimum of 1-3 years working in a purchasing, scheduling, or planning position
• A minimum of 1-3 years working in an electronics manufacturing environment
• Ability to learn new skills and be flexible in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Focused, detail oriented and able to work independently.
• Fluent in English – spoken and written.
• A thorough understanding of MRP concepts
• Familiarity with SMT processes, and manufacturing assembly concepts
• Familiarity with LEAN manufacturing concepts
• Post secondary education in operations, CPP, or APICS certification an asset
