Grasshopper Cameras Used for Photorealistic 3D Video Capture

4D Views Solutions, a 3D video technology company, used an HD capture rig comprised of 16 Grasshopper cameras to create photorealistic 3D film compositing for the film production of “The Destiny of Rome”. Hundreds of sequences of Roman & Egyptian soldiers and citizens were filmed in 3D in green screen studios and integrated into CGI environments to recreate the various scenes of that period in incredible detail. Call for FlyCapture 2.1 Beta Testers

Point Grey will soon be introducing the first Beta of version 2.1 of the FlyCapture Software Development Kit. Building on the success of v2.0, launched in 2009, v2.1 will include a number of new features. Along with enhancements such as a bus interface API, torn image detection, and improvements to bus reset handling, partial image event notifications, and 64-bit driver performance, this version will also add support for Point Grey’s upcoming GigE Vision-compliant Gigabit Ethernet cameras.

Point Grey's FlyCapture SDK is compatible with 32- and 64-bit Windows and Linux platforms, and is used for image acquisition and control of all Point Grey FireWire, USB, and GigE cameras. If you are interested in being a beta tester, please contact our support team.
