Book Scanner Uses Firefly MV for 3D Measurement to Dewarp Pages
Most digital book scanner systems face the challenge of correcting the distortion produced by the curvature in the area of the spine or fold of a book. Zeutschel GmbH in collaboration with Chromasens GmbH has developed the OS 12000 Bookscanner and the Perfect Book, an add-on 3D scanning module, to address these issues.
In addition to a line scan camera developed by Chromasens, the book scanner uses an area scan camera in the form of a board-level Firefly MV IEEE 1394a camera by Point Grey. Read more...

The new Gazelle Camera Link Camera

High-Speed Gazelle Camera Link Cameras Available Now
The Gazelle camera debuts with 2.2 and 4.1 megapixel monochrome models based on the high sensitivity CMOSIS CMV2000 and CMV4000 global shutter CMOS sensors. With a Camera Link digital interface in Base (2-tap) and Full (8-tap) configurations, the 2.2 megapixel model outputs 2048x1088 resolution images at a maximum rate of 280 FPS, while the 4.1 megapixel model outputs 2048x2048 images at 150 FPS. The Gazelle features the same compact housing as Point Grey’s popular Grasshopper camera, which measures just 44 x 29 x 58 mm
in size.
