Cherry Picking Inspection
The Ellips' TrueSort Cherry grading system uses a combination of high resolution cameras, its own operating system, and proprietary algorithms to analyze an impressive 300 cherries per second. The system uses a trio of Grasshopper 1.3 MP cameras: one infrared, one color, and one monochrome with a filter to improve the contrast of defects. The system achieves a remarkable 80-90 per cent accuracy rate.

Operating System Updates
Earlier this month, Apple released its latest versions of MacBook Pro and Air – both lines now support USB 3.0. Also this month, the Linux kernel has been updated to support dynamic ring expansion resulting in larger image transfers. Point Grey continues to work closely with the Linux open source community on a suitable implementation for machine vision.
