Ultra-compact, versatile and cost-effective, the Flea3 builds on the success of the Flea2 with a host of new features.

Launch of New Flea3 High-Speed VGA FireWire Models

The first available Flea3 models incorporate an 800 Mbit/s 1394b (FireWire) interface and are based on mono and color versions of the Sony® ICX618, a 1/4-inch EXview HAD CCD that runs at 120 FPS, and ICX414, a 1/2-inch CCD that runs at 76 FPS. The Flea3 measures just 29 x 29 x 30 mm, and offers new features such as opto-isolated GPIO for industrial triggering and strobe output, non-volatile flash memory for user data storage, and on-camera frame buffer.

Windows 7 Driver Support for FlyCapture and Ladybug

With the release of FlyCapture® 1.8.3.23, FlyCapture 2.0.3.15, and Ladybug 1.4.3.6 SDKs on our downloads site, Point Grey is now distributing signed drivers for Windows® 7. These drivers have been qualified to pass the Windows Logo Signature tests, and the signature allows the user to install these drivers on 64-bit Windows 7 and 32-bit systems without a prompt. The SDKs have also been qualified to work with Windows 7.

Gazelle Camera Link Camera Showcased at Photonics West

Point Grey's upcoming Gazelle camera recently made an appearance at Photonics West, the world's leading photonics, laser, and biomedical optics event. The 3-day show was held in San Francisco and attracted many visitors this year, with a record 18,327 attendees, and exceeded the number of exhibitors of previous years. The Gazelle, running at 170 FPS, was shown in the CMOSIS booth with a new 1-inch 2K x 2K global shutter CMOS sensor from CMOSIS. The camera drew significant attention due to its unsurpassed combination of size, speed, and price.
