New USB 3.0, GigE, and FireWire Cameras at VISION 2011
Point Grey will showcase more "Innovations in Imaging" led by the release of the new Flea3 USB 3.0 line of high-resolution, super-speed, CMOS-based digital cameras. The pioneering Flea3 series pushes technology boundaries by providing three different interfaces: FireWire, GigE, and USB 3.0. Visitors can also expect to see other ground-breaking cameras from Point Grey, including the high-speed Grasshopper Express CCD camera series, the the Gazelle Camera Link series featuring industry-leading price and performance, and the upcoming Zebra2 with its unique combination of interfaces.

Point Grey to open new office in Trento
Point Grey plans to open a new office in Trento, Italy as part of our commitment to continued growth and innovation. Led by Dr. Alvise Sartori, Point Grey's new Senior Manager of Technology Development, the new office will focus on investigating innovative new ways of applying Point Grey imaging technology to our core machine vision and computer vision markets as well as new markets such as traffic and surveillance.
The Italian office is Point Grey's second European office; the Germany office will continue to provide sales and support services to European customers.

The newest machine vision standard: USB3Vision™.
In a recent press release, the AIA announced a new camera interface standard called USB3Vision™. USB3Vision™ is based on the USB 3.0 interface (SuperSpeed USB) and is being developed specifically for the global machine vision market. Point Grey is one of the industry leading suppliers creating the standard specification which is targeted for release in 2012.
275 certified SuperSpeed USB products reach market
At IDF 2011 (Intel Developer Forum) in San Francisco, the USB-IF (USB Implementers Forum) announced an exponential increase in USB 3.0 support with 275 newly certified SuperSpeed USB products in the last year compared to 120 products in the year previous. These include host controllers, motherboards and end products.
