Point Grey Research's Imaging Products line includes all of our single-lens IEEE-1394 (FireWire) and 1394b CCD and CMOS cameras. All Imaging Products are provided as a complete hardware and software system. The FlyCapture® Software Development Kit provides a common software interface to control all Point Grey Imaging Products and is currently bundled with every imaging product.
The Grasshopper™ IEEE-1394b digital camera line offers a large selection of high resolution, high sensitivity sensors and an ultra fast 800Mb/s digital interface. Attractive pricing makes these powerful cameras ideal for OEMs and system integrators who need compact systems that deliver 0.3M, 1.4M, 2.0M or 5.0M images at high frame rates. The Grasshopper cameras are particularly effective in demanding imaging applications such as those used in electronics manufacturing, life sciences and microscopy, surveillance and security, and ITS.
At 29x29x30mm, the Flea®2 is even smaller than the original Flea camera and is designed to have the form factor of similar industry standard analog cameras. The 800Mb/s interface enables full frame rate RGB image transmission and even more cameras on the same bus. The IEEE-1394b cable with jack screws allows a more secure connection to the camera.
The Firefly® MV camera is a small, inexpensive and easy-to-use IEEE-1394 digital camera designed for machine vision applications. With a 25x40mm board-level footprint and external trigger and strobe functionality, the Firefly MV is ideal for industrial imaging applications.
The Dragonfly®2 camera is an OEM style board level camera designed for imaging product development. It was developed for easy design transition from the original Dragonfly camera, and offers double the standard frame rate, auto-iris lens control and on-board color processing.
The Dragonfly Express™
camera is an extension of the popular Dragonfly.
It has a similar form factor as the original Dragonfly, but
uses a 1/3" Kodak sensor and IEEE-1394b interface to achieve
fast frame rates that are ideal for vision product integration.
The Flea® is a compact IEEE-1394 digital camera, designed to fit spaces as small as 30x31mm. With a 1/3'' Sony CCD and a 12-bit analog to digital converter, the camera delivers high quality images ideal for demanding imaging applications. New users should consider the next generation Flea2, which offers a substantially better price-performance ratio.
The Dragonfly® is an OEM-style IEEE-1394 board level camera providing maximum control and flexibility for digital imaging applications and is recommended for use with existing systems. New users should consider the next generation Dragonfly2, which offers a substantially better price-performance ratio.
The FlyCapture® Software Development Kit is included with all PGR IEEE-1394 Imaging and Stereo products. The SDK includes a camera device driver, full software library with Application Programming Interface (API), example programs, and source code for a quick start in the C/C++ programming environment.
