Using Point Grey Stereo Vision Products under Linux.
Article 26: Using Point Grey Stereo Vision Products under Linux.

SUMMARY:
This article describes the specific Linux operating systems that are supported by Point Grey drivers.

APPLICABLE PRODUCTS :
All Stereo Vision Products •  Digiclops SDK •  Triclops SDK •

ANSWER:

Bumblebee2 and Bumblebee XB3 users should acquire images from their cameras using the libdc1394 camera control and image acquisition libraries available from http://www.sourceforge.net. Bumblebee users are also encouraged to use the open source control libraries as well, since the legacy Digiclops SDK under Linux does not support DMA transfers. Consequently, libdc1394(-2) is a more efficient library than the Digiclops SDK.

To stereo process images, users can download the Triclops SDK for Linux from the downloads section. This SDK is provided for the following Red Hat and Fedora Core installations:

  • Redhat 9.0
  • Fedora Core 1
  • Fedora Core 3

These releases can be downloaded from our download site. The releases on the download site are marked with the suffixes "-RH9" for Redhat 9.0, "-FC1" for Fedora Core 1 and "-FC3" for Fedora Core 3. Other Linux "flavours" that use similar kernel versions and the same version of the GCC compiler should also work with these releases.
