If you get the, "Cannot create a file when that file already exists", error message when trying to install the Hotfix, run RegClean1394.exe, then execute the Hotfix installer again. It should then work without errors. Finally, restart the PC as directed by the Hotfix installer.
RegClean1394.exe will remove all instances of 1394 OHCI controllers in the system registry which allows symptomatic Hotfix problems to be overcome. It will not unload the driver stack if it is already loaded - it just cleans the registry so the Hotfix can install. On the next reboot all 1394 controllers will get re-detected as new hardware.
