Issue:
This article outlines the similarities and differences between the Flea3 FireWire camera and Flea3 Gigabit Ethernet camera and offers suggestions and pointers to end users for migrating their custom applications to the Flea3 GigE.
Solution:
The purpose of the following Technical Application Note is to:
- Answer some frequently-asked questions about transitioning from the Flea3 FireWire camera to the Flea3 Gigabit Ethernet camera;
- Outline the similarities and differences between the two cameras;
- Offer suggestions and pointers to end users for migrating their FireWire-based custom applications to the Flea3 GigE.
NOTE: Point Grey strongly encourages users to put the Flea3 GigE through a full requalification process before deciding to fully migrate from the Flea3 FireWire.
