Ladybug5 360-degree Spherical Camera

The Ladybug family of 360° spherical cameras is the trusted standard for GIS (Geographical Information Systems) measurement, thanks to its combination of reliability and accuracy. FLIR continues this tradition of excellence with the Ladybug 5+, the newest member of the Ladybug family. The Ladybug5+ 360 imaging system adds exciting capabilities to the already impressive array offered by the Ladybug5, notably in the realm of capturing immersive experiences for applications like training, surveillance, and virtual reality.

Ladybug5+ features:

  • Captures 90% of the full sphere
  • Sony Pregius global shutter CMOS sensors
  • 30 MP resolution at 30 FPS, or 15 MP at 60 FPS
  • Excellent color response, low noise, and high dynamic range (approx. 70.6dB or 12 stops)
  • Distortion-free images even when the camera is moving or objects move quickly through the scene
  • Excellent low-light image quality with fast f/2.5 lenses
  • High definition with an average pixel spatial resolution of 2mm at 10m
  • Post-process application of white balance, gamma and other processing functions

    • The Ladybug®5+ achieves 30 MP resolution using six 5 MP Sony Pregius CMOS global shutter sensors.
    • 12 bit RAW images


      The workflow starts with Ladybug5+ capturing, compressing, and transmitting full-bit depth 12-bit images.  Users then apply white balance, gamma, and other image processing functions with LadybugCapPro.
    • RAW Post Processing


      The capture and post-workflow model is flexible, allowing users to return to original content and re-apply post-processing steps as desired.
    • LD5+ high Frame Rates



      Thanks to the camera's USB 3.1 interface and Sony IMX264 CMOS sensors, users can capture 30 MP at 30 FPS and 15 MP at 60 FPS.

      Every Ladybug system includes a Software Development Kit (SDK). The Ladybug SDK includes the LadybugCapPro GUI, C/C++ examples for a quick start, a camera device driver, and an Application Programming Interface (API) software library.

    • LD5+ Operating Temps


      Operating temperatures range from -20 to 50°C while lens cover seals, rain exit ports, and voltage spike protection combine to provide flexibility and reliability in all weather conditions.



    • Accurate calibration of each sensor and lens enables photogrammetric analysis of image data. Users can interpret a pixel location in a particular image to a 3D ray (LiDAR) in the Ladybug Coordinate System.
    • Ladybug5+ IP65 Rated


      The first and second digits of FLIR's Ladybug5+ IP65 rating indicate resistance to dust (6) and water (5). Neither dust ingress nor low-pressure water jets (from any direction) can harm the Labybug 5+.
