Point Grey Expands Direct Sales and Support Into Japan

May 27, 2016 – Richmond, BC, Canada – Point Grey, a global leader in the design and manufacturing of innovative, high-performance digital cameras, today announced the expansion of its direct sales and support organization into the Japanese market.  As part of this expansion, Point Grey absorbed the assets and resources of its long-time distributor, ViewPLUS Inc., which was dedicated to marketing, selling and supporting Point Grey products. Effective immediately, ViewPLUS is no longer Point Grey’s distributor.

“ViewPLUS has been successful in building strong relationships with our customer base and establishing Point Grey as a well-known brand in Japan. We are truly grateful to ViewPLUS for many years of rewarding partnership and friendship.  With this change, our aim is to further strengthen those customer relationships, provide excellent customer experiences and grow our market share,” says Michael Gibbons, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Point Grey.

Customers have direct access to Point Grey’s sales and technical support staff including former ViewPLUS colleagues who have joined Point Grey’s Tokyo office.  Japan is a key market for Point Grey and Point Grey’s corporate website is now available in Japanese.

Point Grey’s partnership with Kyoshin Communications Co,. Ltd. as an authorized distributor of single-lens machine vision cameras continues and is not affected by this change.
